How we can help YOU
We offer a variety of services to help get your house back to normal. We clean, sanitize, and get rid of the odor caused by mold and mildew. Our expertise allows us to do this in a fast and effective way so you don’t have to worry about any problems popping up again.

Don’t try this yourself!
Sometimes people will try to deal with their problems by themselves. It often ends up getting worse because the original problem that caused the mold was not dealt with. Don’t be one of these people! Bleach is not a good solution because it won’t help with moisture. Using lamps to dry out the affected areas only will help you in the short run, and it can damage the surfaces it’s used on.

How Mold Grows

In order for mold to develop, it needs water, oxygen, and a palatable temperature. Mold gets the nutrients it requires to grow from dead wood, decomposing paper, and deteriorating fabric. Mold can even get some of the nutrients it requires from adhesives and paint products. Molds need a moderate temperature of between 40 and 100 degrees Fahrenheit to survive. Outside of those temperatures, mold doesn’t do very well. They also need high humidity to really thrive. When the temperature becomes too cold, mold may become dormant, but it can start growing once more after the temperature increases. Mold can be killed at high temperatures (about 100 degrees Fahrenheit), but the specific temperature at which most mold dies is not generally known.

How Mold Enters Buildings

Molds break down organic objects like decaying wood and dead plants and animals. Mold thrives especially well in areas filled with decaying leaves or compost. The spores from mold can attach to people and animals or objects that are carried into buildings. These spores are little clusters of the building blocks of mold structures.Molds That Are HarmfulOnly some molds can actually create an infection in most people. The majority of infections caused by molds are in people with compromised immune systems. People with asthma and HIV are the most susceptible to mold infections. Mold comes in over 100,000 varieties, and only a portion of them have been thoroughly studied. So far, it has been determined that most molds won’t harm the majority of people. But some types of molds create harmful substances known as mycotoxins. While information about them is scarce, they can be dangerous to both humans and animals. How Mold Affects People DifferentlyMold can be specifically harmful to people with vulnerable immune systems. But most people are not affected by mold at all. People who suffer from asthma can become quite ill from mold. The toxins within molds can also vary in their effect on people. It makes it hard to tell just how each kind of mold will affect different kinds of people.

How Much Mold is Dangerous Amount?

The answer here can greatly vary. Because there are so many kinds of molds, it can be hard to pinpoint exactly how much is going to be dangerous to a specific person or group of people. Children, the elderly and pregnant women are the most susceptible to being harmed by mold. How much exposure to mold will make someone sick is a problem with no definite answer. What we do know is that mold spores can be absorbed through the skin or through the nose or mouth. Mold can collect in the air ducts of buildings and inside the walls. It is more dangerous if it is in the air ducts because it can spread to more people easier.
